September 15th

Can you believe it?  I'm blogging on a Saturday!  I figured since I've been running my mouth about not having anything to do the least I could do is stay up to date on blogging!   Although that does mean I'm going to need to do write up Friday after I finish this one...  So, Thursday was Joe's 34th birthday!  He had the day off from work but was still going into work for an early meeting so I was on my own for breakfast.  I tossed a bunch of stuff (banana, blueberries, greek yogurt & white cranberry peach juice) into the blender and ended up with a great smoothie (341 calories)!  I packed another peanut butter & jelly on a bagel thin, a peach and a 100 calorie cookie pack (410 calories) for lunch and off to work I went.
My work day went by quickly, I had a meeting in the afternoon which was really great.  I'm on the planning committee for a big event and I'm really in my element raising money & party planning, it's awesome.

Joe spent the day kayaking with his friend Mark.  At least my kayak finally got some use, even if it wasn't by me.  Oh well.

Nicole stopped by with a pretty miserable Jack right after I got home from work but a little down time with his buddy Joe perked him right back up.
We had a dinner reservation at The Chart House in The Golden Nugget casino to celebrate.  We had been to their location in Philadelphia once before and really enjoyed ourselves, we always planned on going back and we're super excited to learn there was a closer location opening.
While our table wasn't right on the window we still had a great view of the marina from our booth.
We started with a glass of wine, white for me, red for Joe.  Then ordered the East Meets West Tuna appetizer (zesty tuna tartare drizzled with wasabi cream paired with seared peppered tuna & avocado, with kim chee slaw & plantain chips).  The tuna tartare was too spicy for me but everything else was delicious!
Joe also ordered the Lobster Bisque (laced with sherry).  It came in this adorable little cauldron with a lid so of course I had to take a picture.  Sorry about the grainy photo(s), I'm still getting the hang on my new Bionic.  Joe hates when I use my camera in restaurants so I'm stuck with fighting with the cell phone camera.
For my entree I ordered the Seared Chilean Sea Bass (topped with fresh lobster & jumbo lump crab, served with saffron risotto).  IT WAS FANTASIC!  Definitely giving it two thumbs up and the risotto, oh my god.  Plus the best part about going to fancy restaurants is that the portion sizes are actually close to normal.
We also got suckered into ordering their signature dessert that needs to be prepared 30 minutes prior to serving so that you have to order it at the beginning of the meal.  They totally make you do that because you're hungry when you first sit down, if they waited until after you finished eating you wouldn't want it anymore.  Anyway, it was the Hot Chocolate Lava Cake (A rich chocolate cake with molten center, made with Godiva® liqueur. Served warm, topped with chocolate sauce, Heath® bar crunch and vanilla ice cream).  It was definitely good but the one Anne made in the microwave at work was better.
That's right, I totally made sure to mention it was Joe's birthday so they'd put a candle in his dessert.  It was a great meal (1025 calories) and Joe even said it was one of his best birthdays ever!  Once we rolled ourselves out of the restaurant we headed over to the casino floor so Joe could do some gambling.  He played a little blackjack then a few slot machines.  We didn't win anything but killed some time and had fun trying.  The rest of the evening was pretty quiet, at least for me.  I fell asleep on the couch!
