31 Weeks

Wow long time, no talk.  Things have been busy around here the last few weeks so this will be a long one!

How far along: 31 weeks
Baby’s Size: pineapple
Maternity clothes: I was just thinking this morning that it's so sad that all the clothes in my closets aren't being worn.  I go through stages of thinking I should clean it all out and only keep my favorites but then I realize this pregnancy will be over before I know it and I'll probably go back to wearing everything again.  Right now, I'm literally getting dressed out of a rubbermaid bin of maternity clothes on the floor every day.
Best moment this week: Spending all day Sunday hanging out with Joe.  We didn't even do anything, just hung around the house, but it was so nice!  Oh, and getting my Bobby Cuddle Pillow from amazon yesterday!  Sleeping with a pillow between my knees is totally necessary now.
Miss anything: Not having aches.  I realize I've been beyond lucky to have a super easy pregnancy but this last week has not been pleasant.  My legs get achy if I don't get up and move but my back hurts if I move too much, ugh.
Movement: All the time.  In fact I can now lay on the couch and watch the waves across my belly as he moves around.  There's still the occasional big kick, especially when I balance the remote or iPad up there but it's primarily the waves now...so weird.
Food cravings: I've wanted dessert a lot this week.
Anything making you queasy or sick: Nope, I even cleaned up some kitty vomit yesterday and didn't gag once!  Our lovely cat has decided that the changing pad is her new favorite place.  Joe really doesn't like her up there but if you have cats you know it's next to impossible to keep them off of anything.  I'm planning to just wash everything (again) before the baby is born.
Labor signs: Not even a Braxton Hicks around these parts.  Though I've started getting slightly panicky every time anything feels different, those damn websites with their pre-term labor emails have got me all twisted up.
Symptoms: Just getting more and more uncomfortable with each passing week.  I really want to let this baby come when he's ready (hopefully as far from Xmas as possible) but I am beginning to understand why people keep telling me I'll be ready sooner rather then later!
Belly button in or out? In, I'm not sure it'll ever go out.
Happy or moody most of the time: I had at least 2 bouts of crying this week which leads me to choose moody, ugh.
Looking forward to: Our ultrasound next Friday afternoon.  It's been almost 12 weeks since we've seen the little bugger.

Like I said up up top it's been a busy couple of weeks around here!

It started back at the end of October with my baby shower!  My sister & Nicole did an awesome job of planning a great afternoon with my closest friends and family!  The event had an elephant theme, if you remember, at my bridal shower Joe said that the animal I remind him of is an elephant (because I never forget, not because I'm massive)...

Our little guy got hooked up!  It really is crazy how much stuff one little person will need!  Even with all of the generous gifts from our friends and family we still have over 100 items to pick up from the registries!
To help fill our book wall the girls requested everyone bring a book with a note to the baby in the front cover, so cute!  One of my favorites was this gem from Vic & Tammy.

The following weekend we went on a little babymoon!  My midwife wouldn't sign off on my flying after 28 weeks so we took a road trip.  In the spirit of becoming new parents we decided to do everything spur of the moment.  When we left the house Thursday morning we didn't even know where we'd be staying that night!  We spent 4 days driving through New England with stops in Connecticut, Rhode Island & Massachusetts.  It was super relaxing and we had a great time just hanging out together.

We got home on Sunday evening and weren't scheduled to be back at work until Thursday so we spent the last 3 days playing with all of the baby stuff from the shower.  We put together the Rock n' Play, MamaRoo and Pack n' Play amongst others.  I also washed and put away all the bedding and newborn-3 months clothes we've accumulated.  That is the newborn drawer I took a picture of...if our little guy is a peanut we may need a few more outfits...

28 Weeks

How far along: 28 weeks (3rd Trimester!)
Baby’s Size: eggplant
Maternity clothes: I'm pretty excited that it's starting to get cooler and I can break out the handful of maternity sweaters I've been collecting!
Best moment this week: My check-up with the OB was good news all around.  I only gained 3 lbs over 3 weeks (right on target)!  I passed my glucose test (score of 95)!  And we're now on the every 2 week rotation (can you believe it?  only 12 weeks to go)!
Miss anything: runny eggs...
Movement: It's funny how quickly things change.  Just last week I was saying how he's moving around all the time and this week he's slowed way down.  No worries though, I googled it and it's normal, he's just running out of space...gonna be a long 12 weeks buddy...
Food cravings: Not only am I not craving anything, I can never figure out what I want to eat in general...
Anything making you queasy or sick: Nope.
Labor signs:  Nope.
Symptoms:  My legs are definitely not as bad as before but I think that's just because I was super busy this week and never spent any time laying around...  I also had a really tough time waking up all week.  Like I was still half asleep coming up on lunch time...  I guess that's what life with a newborn will be like so I should get used to it!
Belly button in or out?  Still in...more and more people have been telling me that there's never popped out.  Also, I've pretty much lost sight of my feet this week.
Happy or moody most of the time: I think I was in a better mood this week.  Mostly I've just been sort of bummed because I'm so busy.  I've seriously had plans for every day this week and all I want to do is veg out on the couch...
Looking forward to:  Baby shower on Sunday!

10/21/2013

27 Weeks

How far along? 27 weeks
Baby’s Size:  rutabaga
Maternity clothes?  I managed to fit into my old small
"Mission for Margie" shirt at the Alzheimer's Walk on Sunday...sort of...

Best moment this week:  Not hearing from the doctor.  I'm assuming it means I passed my glucose test!  I'll know for sure on Wednesday but I've been told no news is good news on that front.
Miss anything?  Not getting up to pee a million times a night!
Movement:  I've been noticing him more often.  It used to just be when I was laying down and relaxing but lately he's started kicking more and more when I'm out and about.  I'm assuming it's just more obvious the bigger he gets.  A few times he's even kicked at my arm when I have it sitting on belly, so fun!
Food cravings:  Chicken.  I've been wanting a pesto chicken sandwich for lunch for the last few days but the cafeteria isn't being very accommodating lately.
Anything making you queasy or sick:  Joe thinks it's hilarious to make these terrible noises in his throat because it makes me gag.  Such a sweetheart, my husband.
Gender: It's a boy!
Labor signs:  Nope.  Not even Braxton Hicks.  All of my emails this week are about Braxton Hicks and I'd sort of like to have a few just to know what they're talking about but nothing.
Symptoms:  My legs are driving me crazy around 8:30 every night!  A friend suggested a bath in Epsom salt each night to help relieve it and I may have to give that a try if it gets bad again this week.  I also went to bed by 9 all week long, it's a bummer because I thought I'd finally passed that point and was back to being fun again...

Belly button in or out?  Still in...though Kate assures me that I look perfectly round from her perspective.
Happy or moody most of the time: Oh wow was I moody this week.  I just couldn't control myself, I wanted to throttle pretty much everyone all the time.
Looking forward to:  My baby shower on Sunday!  We picked up the glider this week so now the room is really ready to go!  It just needs a few decorations, baby stuff & a kid-let to fill it up!

10/11/2013

26 Weeks

 How far along? 26 weeks
Baby’s Size:  head of lettuce
Maternity clothes?  Zipping up some of my favorite sweatshirts has become quite comical.  Some point soon I'm going to have to give them up or only wear them open.  It's crazy how much bigger I look with just one more layer of material over the bump!

Best moment this week:  I got to see a lot of people I normally don't this week and they're all so excited for us!  I spend most nights at home alone and it all gets kind of routine so it was nice to be reminded that this is a really exciting time in our lives!
Miss anything?  I miss trying drinks.  For example, we're out with people somewhere and they say, "oh, have you had x yet?  It's so good!"  No, I'm not drinking alcoholic beverages, I have not had the yummy new beer...
Movement:  He's actually woken me up before 6am twice this week kicking away.  He's also taken to tap dancing on my bladder recently.  I go from zero to running for the bathroom in 2 seconds.  (like I need to pee more often, I counted the other day, I went 4 times in 2 hours)
Food cravings:  Must eat all the cereal!
Anything making you queasy or sick:  Nope.
Gender: It's a boy!
Labor signs:  Nope.
Symptoms:  It took me a few minutes to come up with symptoms for my picture this week.  I've really felt good.  It seems like any real issues I have are on the weekends.  My back was achy to the point that all I wanted to do is lay on the couch.  Also, I couldn't get my rings off after walking around Oktoberfest because my hands were so swollen but after a few hours they were back to normal.  Nothing really terrible or debilitating though.

Belly button in or out?  Still in...though when I lay down it is almost flat around the edges.
Happy or moody most of the time:  I think I was pretty happy all week.  I can sort of feel myself getting agitated so I try to talk myself back down before lashing out.  However, Glee definitely had me crying last night and over stuff that wouldn't normally get me...like the mom crying on Finn's floor...done.
Looking forward to:  Getting the results of my glucose test.  I went for the 1 hour test yesterday morning and won't know anything until next week at the earliest.  Apparently, if it's bad they'll call but if not I have to wait to get the results at my appointment on the 23rd.  No news is good news until then...

10/04/2013

25 Weeks

How far along? 25 weeks
Baby’s Size:  cauliflower
Maternity clothes?  I don't even look at my other clothes...except sweatshirts & cardigans.

Best moment this week:  Spending time with Joe.  I know I know, so hokey...but he has been in the best mood this week and it's infectious.
Miss anything?  Not thinking about food.  I went to my check-up at the ob this week and I've put on 8 lbs in the last 4 weeks...I'm only supposed to gain 1 per week!  I've only gained 15 lbs so far which is totally fine but 8 lbs in one month is too much!  Between the weight gain and the fact that I've started swelling when I'm at all active caused the midwife to suggest I start watching my sodium intake and add more protein/less carbs.  So...now I'm always thinking about what I should eat...ugh...I thought I was getting a break from all that for a while!
Movement:  Yep.  Though I'm a little concerned I'm not feeling everything I should be.  When the midwife was using the doppler to monitor his heart beat at my appointment he kept running away from her then started kicking the sensor.  I couldn't feel any of it and she seemed surprised that I didn't.
Food cravings: Everything I shouldn't eat...
Anything making you queasy or sick:  Nope.
Gender: It's a boy!
Labor signs:  Nope.
Symptoms:  In addition to the swelling I talked about before, I've been really clumsy the last few days.  I haven't fallen down on anything but I drop pretty much anything I pick up.  I actually gave up on wearing a necklace today after I dropped it no less than 4 times trying to put the clasp together.

Belly button in or out?  Still WAY in...still annoying me...
Happy or moody most of the time:  I'd say 1/2 and 1/2 this week.  For the most part I've been good but there was one bad night :-(
Looking forward to:  My shower at the end of the month!  We went to Ikea on Sunday and got shelving, a rug and a few other decorative odds and ends that really pulled the room together!  It definitely still has a ways to go but other than a lamp shade and some pictures there's nothing else for Joe & I to do until after the shower.  In fact, every time I suggest picking something up Nicole yells at me not to until next month!

9/27/2013

24 Weeks

not loving my hair so much this week...

How far along? 24 weeks (6 months!)
Baby’s Size:  cantaloupe
Maternity clothes?  Is there any other kind?

Best moment this week:  Joe FINALLY being able to feel a kick!  Last night while I was laying in bed the baby was kicking really hard in the same spot over and over so I quick told Joe to feel and it worked!
Miss anything?  People not asking me how I'm feeling.  I know they mean well but seriously, there has got to be other things to talk about!  I feel totally fine, like my old self...so far, pregnancy no big deal...
Movement:  All the time.  He's really active during the day and quieter at night.  Let's hope that keeps up after he's born!
Food cravings:  Cereal.  I've been eating it for breakfast every morning and could totally have it for dinner every night too.
Anything making you queasy or sick: Haven't even gagged this week!  Wahoo!
Gender:  snakes and snails and puppy dog tails...that's what little boys are made of...
Labor signs:  Nope.
Symptoms:  I felt like I was going to pass out 3 times this week, always right around 8:15am.  I've been fighting it by bringing orange juice and fruit to work and eating/drinking as soon as I feel woozy...I plan on mentioning it to the doctor at my appointment next week.  I also had the worst cramp in my left butt cheek a few days this week.  It comes and goes and I haven't done anything particularly active that would have hurt the muscle so...according to Dr Google the baby is probably sitting on my sciatic nerve from time to time and causing it.

Belly button in or out?  Still WAY in...but I noticed I have a little beauty mark in it that I'd never seen before...
Happy or moody most of the time:  Happy :-)
Looking forward to:  More room work!  Joe surprised me by finishing the chevron wall last Friday night, I love it!  We're doing our best not to buy anything until after the shower but I can't wait to see how it looks with actual baby stuff in it!  I'm hoping we can get to Ikea on Sunday and pick up the book wall shelves!

9/20/2013

23 Weeks

As I'm sure most of you are aware the iPhone 5S & 5C release today.  I think you're also aware that Joe works for a cell phone provider.  This means he left the house at 6:30am this morning and was not home to take my weekly picture...I don't know, I kind of like this angle...

update: my pal over at C'est Law Vie told me about a camera timer app for my iPhone so I'll be trying that out next time!

How far along? 23 weeks
Baby’s Size:  grapefruit
Maternity clothes?  You got it dude!

Best moment this week:  Getting a reaction from the baby when I was talking to him.  I felt like a total weirdo but all the info I've been reading says we should be talking to him so I gave it a shot the other night while I was laying on the couch.  I told him about my day and when I'd stop, he'd kick.  Pretty cool.
Miss anything?  Wine.  We were talking about different kinds in the office today and all of a sudden I totally missed it.
Movement:  Every day.  In fact, last night I was laying on the couch with my iPad on my belly playing Candy Crush and he kept kicking at it.  It was pretty funny watching it bounce up.  I tried to get him to do it for Joe later that evening but no dice.
Food cravings: I can totally go for a salad, but not one from home, I need one from Saladworks or something.
Anything making you queasy or sick: Bodily fluids still totally gross me out.  Nicole was telling me a story about Jack sneezing and snot running down his face and I literally almost vomited just thinking about it.
Gender:  I've started calling our boy "buddy" when I talk to him, lol.
Labor signs:  Nope.
Symptoms:  My scalp is super itchy, it has been for weeks but I always forget when I get to this post.  Also, I almost passed out yesterday.  I was filing in my office and got really light headed all of a sudden.  I went and sat down at my desk but it got worse!  I took a few sips of lemonade and put my head between my knees for a few minutes and started to feel better.  Crazy!  It happened again today but not nearly as bad so hopefully it won't be a regular occurrence.

Belly button in or out?  Still WAY in...but thankfully slightly less cavernous/lumpy looking...
Happy or moody most of the time:  Definitely happy.  I was in a funk one day but by the time I got home from work it had lifted.
Looking forward to:  I don't know, everything.  I'm in a really good place this week.  We're having a yard sale this weekend so hopefully we'll clear out a lot of junk and have room for baby stuff!  Especially since my shower is in 5 weeks (YAY)!  Also, Joe started marking off the chevron wall!  And, duh, it's Friday!

9/13/2013

22 Weeks

How far along? 22 weeks
Baby’s Size:  papaya
Maternity clothes?  All the time.  I also hit up the Old Navy 25% off maternity sale for some fall items (like KJPugs favorite tank).

Best moment this week:  Getting all the furniture set up in the room!  We were concerned it wasn't going to fit right but after pushing everything around & around we found a good configuration.  It's pretty crazy to walk past and see a crib out of the corner of my eye!
Miss anything? Joe not watching me like a hawk.  I know he has my best interests at heart but seriously if I get one more "can you eat that?" I might scream.
Movement:  I felt 2 kicks from the outside this week!  I tried to find a time for Joe to as well but this kid-let just wasn't cooperating.
Food cravings:  I really wanted a salad earlier in the week and I'm in the mood for a burrito today.
Anything making you queasy or sick: Nope.
Gender:  a little man
Labor signs:  Nope.
Symptoms:  Restless leg syndrome was back with a vengeance...but having to get up and pee every half an hour helped to relieve it!

Belly button in or out?  My weekly email from Pregnant Chicken said my belly button might be poking out this week, bwahahaha!  It's not quite as cavernous as before but it's definitely no where near sticking out.
Happy or moody most of the time:  I'd say I was happy this week.  Working on the room helped boost my mood a lot.  Joe surprised me by painting the walls & ceiling during the day while I was at work!  We decided to go with all different shades of one color in hopes of not making the small room too overwhelming.  I also found an alphabet arrangement that I think we're going to try to install opposite the chevron.  So...it may still be pretty busy in there!
Looking forward to:  Having a little guy to put in the stroller that Joe's parents surprised us with on Wednesday!  We were shocked to see the giant box on the porch with a card telling us to enjoy the gift!

9/06/2013

21 Weeks

How far along? 21 weeks
Baby’s Size:  pomegranate
Maternity clothes?  I actually wore a couple of non-maternity shirts this week!  Yes, they were long and flowy but it totally counts.

Best moment this week:  Working on our baby registries with our moms on Monday.  It was really nice all 4 of us spending time together oohing and aahing over tiny baby things.
Miss anything?  Hmmm...nothing I can think of right now.
Movement: Yep.  There doesn't seem to be any pattern to it though and nothing that can be felt from outside.
Food cravings:  I think I really wanted something in particular the other night but hell if I can remember what it was...damn pregnancy brain?
Anything making you queasy or sick:  I've been trying to eat more veggies lately.  They don't make me sick but I also don't find them very appetizing.
Gender: a bouncing baby boy!
Labor signs:  Nope.
Symptoms:  I really can't think of anything.  I've been feeling very much like good ole pre-pregnancy Lauren this week.  I have been sniffling a little the last few days, but I think that's just allergies though.

Belly button in or out?  Ugh the lumpiness is still going full force.  In fact Joe was singing the song "Lump" while taking my picture this morning.  I keep giving the little guy pep talks to kick at it or shove his butt against it to round it out.  My weekly update from thebump.com says it may start to even out this week!  Keep your fingers crossed for me.
Happy or moody most of the time:  I was definitely on the moody train this week.  There were a few tears and a few days where I was just plain in a funk that I couldn't get out of.
Looking forward to:  Moving forward on the room!  We've got the furniture in there now but we still need to arrange it a little better and paint and figure out a rug and and and...

9/04/2013

It's a...

Oh my gosh!  I totally forgot to post over the weekend about our gender reveal!  I'm super sorry guys!  However, I'm betting most of you already follow me on some other form of social media so you probably already know what we're having...

Our gender reveal extravaganza started on Friday evening with a special manicure.  My mom met me at the nail salon across the street and Quynh worked her magic on my new longer, stronger (thanks to prenatal vitamins) nails.  After our mani/pedi appointment we headed across the plaza for dinner at Applebee's.  No gender reveal excitement there though...

The next morning Nicole, Jack & I headed out to pick up last minute party supplies.  Obviously blue and pink jewelry from Old Navy was necessary.  We also stopped at Party City for plates, napkins, candy and fancy polka dot balloons.
Before I knew it 7pm was here and our friends/family were starting to arrive!  We waited until 8pm to cut the cake so that those fashionably late people wouldn't miss the big event.

It was really fun but also one of the most overwhelming moments of my life.  There were about 30 people crammed into the entryway of our dining room waiting to see if the inside of the cake was pink or blue!
It was blue!  We're having a boy!  If you'd like to check it out first hand feel free to watch the YouTube video below that a friend of ours recorded on Joe's cell phone.
About 1/2 our guests left pretty quickly after the cake was cut but most of our favorites hung out for a few hours longer to celebrate our boy!  I stayed up WAY later than I have in months!

I've had a feeling since pretty much the moment I got pregnant that it was a boy but I don't know a lot about boys.  I've always been a girly girl and never had a lot of guy friends or anything like that so the prospect of raising a son & being outnumbered in my house is a little daunting.  So, on Sunday morning before I was even out of bed I updated our registries (amazon & Babies R Us) with more boy appropriate colors and spent some time on Pinterest looking at boy inspired showers and other cute baby boy stuff to boost my excitement.  Then, after Joe headed out to work I decided to hit the 50% off Labor Day sale at Carter's.  I did my best to restrain myself and only picked out 5 adorable little outfits for a total of $36!  I was surprised that I wasn't even sad to not be in the little girl section, I guess my blood isn't quite as pink & glittery as I thought!

I also spent some time over the weekend talking to friends that are moms to boys and have been reassured.  I'm feeling really good our new little guy and couldn't be more excited to meet the little mama's boy in January!

8/30/2013

20 Weeks

How far along? 20 weeks
Baby’s Size: banana
Maternity clothes?  All maternity all the time.  Even my regular underwear are starting to be uncomfortable...

Best moment this week:  We had our anatomy scan!  It was fun getting to see the baby again, I swear I wouldn't believe it was there if I didn't see it with my own eyes!
Miss anything?  Not being apprehensive.  I noticed I'm looking a little less toned in the arms/back lately and I'd love to lift or something but I just worry I'm going to do some kind of damage somehow...
Movement:  I've definitely got movement happening but it's hard to tell what exactly.  The ultrasound tech said once the baby hits 16-24oz it'll be easier to distinguish (it's only 12oz now).
Food cravings:  Not craving anything and still not very hungry...
Anything making you queasy or sick:  I appear to have an issue with bodily fluids.  I knew this was a slight problem because I tend to dry heave a little when helping Jack in the bathroom...but then I tried to clean up some cat puke the other morning and lost my breakfast.  Doesn't bode extremely well for bringing a tiny child home...I hear they're all bodily fluids all the time...
Gender:  35 hours to go!  AND my friend Edra, who flew in for our party (and Labor Day weekend, but I'm choosing to believe it's strictly to see us), got us our first present off our registry (even though the items are totally gender neutral)!
Labor signs:  Nope.
Symptoms: Oh my gosh my legs are so restless!  After laying on the couch watching tv for an hour or so I can hardly take it!  I think Joe's happy about it though because I've been getting up and cleaning to stay busy...

Belly button in or out?  It's still way in but I think my uterus being up at that level this week is helping with my lumpiness...  Plus from the looks of that picture I may have actually popped!  I even had my first congratulations based purely on sight earlier this week!  I mean yeah the guy was definitely taking a risk but lucky for him I was excited!
Happy or moody most of the time:  Holding strong at happy!
Looking forward to: No more "it."  In no time I'll be able to refer to the kidlet as he or she!  Look for an update from me Saturday night!!

8/23/2013

19 Weeks

How far along? 19 weeks
Baby’s Size: mango
Maternity clothes?  All maternity all the time.  I could probably still get away with regular tops but the stretchy bands on the pants come down so low that most non-maternity tops aren't long enough...

Best moment this week: Starting our registry.  After doing a lot of research and reading pretty much the entire Lucie's List website I started adding things to registries on Amazon.com and Babies R Us.  I'm sure once we know the sex the colors will change but for now it's good to have a few things marked that we know we'll need.
Miss anything?  Having energy.  I always have big plans for the evening but by the time I leave work I'm ready for a nap!
Movement:  There's definitely something going on in there.  I don't usually realize until it stops but once or twice a day I definitely feel something.
Food cravings:  Nope.  In fact I haven't been very hungry at all.  All the articles I read say I should be ravenous in the 2nd trimester but I'm not.
Anything making you queasy or sick: Nope.
Gender:  We're up to 31 guests for our gender reveal!  Only 5 days until the scan and 8 days until the party!
Labor signs:  Nope.
Symptoms: I've been really tired again this week, I actually had plans to walk with Angela and had to cancel because I couldn't keep my eyes open at 5pm.  I've also had a ton of round ligament pains.  I think this kid has a growth spurt happening with all the stretching going on.

Belly button in or out?  Still looking lumpy thanks to the darn thing!
Happy or moody most of the time:  Happy again this week!  Thank goodness, being a crab is no fun for anyone.
Looking forward to: Working on the nursery!  We've decided to do a book wall and a chevron wall...I'm hoping it's not too busy...  We finally found someone to take our couch, now we just need to get rid of the desk and it's game on.  In fact the furniture came in at Babies R Us yesterday so we have to pick it up in the next 2 weeks.  I'm thinking everything is going to start happening quickly now that the summer is almost over!

8/16/2013

18 Weeks

How far along? 18 weeks
Baby’s Size: sweet potato
Maternity clothes?  I tried to wear a pair of non-maternity exercise leggings last weekend and was physically uncomfortable after a few hours.  Now it's maternity pants all the time.

Best moment this week: I stopped at Babies R Us to show my dad our nursery furniture on Tuesday and he bought it for us!  In 7-14 days our kid will have somewhere to sleep!
Miss anything?  Not having restrictions.  It's not a big deal but it just seems like everyone has been telling me everything I'm not allowed to do this week.
Movement:  I've been feeling those same "bubbles" about once a day but I'm still not convinced they're actually anything.  However, this morning I'm pretty sure I felt an actual kick when I got out of bed!
Food cravings:  I finally got my fajitas this week!  Mostly we've been trying to eat at home more lately and that makes catering to cravings a lot more difficult.
Anything making you queasy or sick: Nope.
Gender:  We're up to 24 guests for our gender reveal!  Only 12 days to go!
Labor signs:  Nope.
Symptoms:  I mentioned to Joe that my legs were restless the other night and then 2 days later I read an article that said restless leg syndrome is a pregnancy symptom!  Also my scalp has been super itchy lately...

Belly button in or out?  Still looking lumpy thanks to the darn thing!
Happy or moody most of the time:  Happy!  And I'm so glad that that moodiness is passed!
Looking forward to: Still need to get rid of our corner desk & single pullout sofa!  Anyone in the market for some gently used furniture?!?

8/09/2013

17 Weeks

How far along? 17 weeks
Baby’s Size: turnip (or iPhone per Pregnant Chicken which I like better)
Maternity clothes?  I bought a couple of bellabands in hopes of salvaging some pre-pregnancy pants but I haven't quite figured them out yet.  I'm now advising all of my looking to get pregnant friends to make sure they're in good shape when they take the plunge so they can wear their own clothes as long as possible.  It's so depressing to barely be showing and not be able to wear 1/2 of what's in your closet.

Best moment this week:  Finding out we are negative on the the Downs Syndrome, Trisomy 18 & Spina Bifida test!
Miss anything? Sushi.  We went out with my sister & Bill over the weekend and I was bummed to miss out on all the fun rolls.  I told Joe that  I want sushi & runny eggs as soon as February gets here!
Movement:  Not since that day last week.
Food cravings: Nope.  I'm actually not really that hungry in general.  All the articles I'm reading say I should be ravenous now that I'm into the second trimester but I'm actually less hungry than I have been in a while.  I couldn't even finish 1/2 of my pannini at dinner last night.
Anything making you queasy or sick:  Flossing still isn't pleasant.
Gender:  Our anatomy scan appointment in 8/28!  The evite for the gender reveal party is out & the cake is ordered for 8/31!
Labor signs: Nope.
Symptoms:  I'm still exhausted by 10pm and the zits have come back with a vengeance this week which I'm not thrilled about.  But other than that I still feel like me.  I try not to rub it in...I have a few pregnant friends that are not having as easy of a time...

Belly button in or out?  Way in, so much so that I'm getting annoyed about it.  I could have a halfway decent little bump if it wasn't so cavernous.  Instead I just look a kind of lumpy...  Joe suggested I put a piece of duct tape across to even it out!
Happy or moody most of the time:  Wow was I moody this week.  I feel like I start the day out in a good mood but all it takes is one little comment or action to throw me into a funk and then I have to literally give myself a pep talk to get out of it.
Looking forward to: Getting rid of the furniture in our office so we can start painting!
