Is it just me or is this week taking forever? I feel like Monday was so long ago! It probably has something to do with how much I'm cramming into my days. I have a workout and/or plans scheduled every single day this week! I'm not trying to complain, I'm burning lots of calories and spending quality time with my friends & family; but seriously my DVR is 80% full and I don't know when I'll have time to clean it out (hopefully Joe will watch a couple of his shows while he's off today).
I woke up on Tuesday a little sore from group power on Monday night. It was mostly just my shoulders that were aching, a nice hot shower helped relax my muscles. I had a little bit of an issue getting ready because both pairs of pants I wanted to wear are too big now. Don't you hate it when you have an outfit all set in your mind and it doesn't work out like you hoped?
When I went to make breakfast/pack lunch, I noticed the bananas were starting to get a little brown so I had one with some cereal for breakfast = 286 calories. It was lightly raining when I left for work, I wasn't sure if I was going to be able to do my 3 mile run outside but I kept my fingers crossed the storm would pass. Everyone in my office seemed to be feeling the effects of the weather as well, we were all a little down. I had a piece of chocolate in hopes of buoying my spirits = 69 calories.
Time was definitely dragging, I must have looked at the clock 15 times before lunch. I had plenty of work to do but it wasn't helping pass the time. We were all thrilled for 12pm to arrive, lunch = 350 calories.
The rain let up in the early afternoon and it was about 40 degrees out! I made sure Angela was up for running after work, she was, and felt a little better about my day. It still took forever for 5pm to finally arrive, it seemed like every order I tried to place had an issue, drove me up a wall!
When I got home I was happy to see the box for my new boots & package from Forever 21 waiting on the porch. I opened everything up to make sure it fit, it did, I'll tell you more about it another day though. I was absolutely starving but didn't want to eat anything substantial since I was running in a 1/2 hour and had dinner plans with Lorie. I grabbed a handful of chex mix = 60 calories.
Our run was ok; we did the 3 miles in 33:55, not bad but not great either. We were both over dressed for 38 degrees and ended up unzipping & shedding layers as we went. My ankle has been bothering me on and off lately too, I thought maybe it was my sneakers so I wore my Nike Free Runs instead of my Asics. It still bothered me the whole time so it's not that. I'm beginning to think it may be something with my stride, not only does my ankle only ache when I run I've also been getting cramped in my right side toward the end of my runs and my left butt cheek is always sore after. Definitely going to have to figure this out before I start doing 5+ miles, those will be pretty miserable if I don't feel better.
I went home and got cleaned up before meeting Lorie for dinner at Applebee's. I have to say I especially love hanging out with my pregnant friends because there's no pressure to drink alcohol. I had my new favorite the Grilled Dijon Chicken & Portabellos = 450 calories. I don't get to see Lorie as often as I'd like which is weird because she probably lives the closest to us (other then Nicole) but our schedules just don't line up very often. We hung out for a little while catching up and talking about baby shower ideas.
And because Angela has ruined me, I stopped at Starbucks before heading home & got my favorite Tall Skinny Cinnamon Dolce Latte = 90 calories.
Joe was already home when I got back & in a very good mood because he landed a big deal at work. We hung out talking and watching tv for a couple of hours before going up to bed.
How did I do on my January goals?
1. drink 64oz of water every day: check, every day total
