Doesn't look so lion like to me...

They say that March comes in like a lion and goes out like a lamb; but with today's sunny skies and almost 50 degree high I'm not buying it.  Hopefully things will stay nice and calm the rest of the month, I'd love to start playing tennis and running outside without being blown away.

I had the day off from the gym on Tuesday (I try to take 2 days off a week) and we had dinner plans with my dad & sister/Bill so I decided to dress up a little.  This OOTD is a sweater dress from Ann Taylor Loft that Joe got me for xmas, I'm not loving the way it's clinging in the middle, hopefully I adjusted the ruching better the rest of the day.  It's a little low cut so I added a black cami from New York & Company to match the argyle tights from Kohls.  I'm not usually into the whole mixing black and brown thing but these tights allow for it so I decided to go with black shoes.  I must have tried on 4 different boots and 2 pairs of heels before Joe voted for the Macy's slouchy boots.  I decided to skip a necklace thinking I had enough going on already but now I'm thinking it probably could have used something...
I asked Joe to drop me off at work because our dinner reservation was out past my office and it wouldn't make any sense for me to drive home and then turn around and drive back out that way again.  He suggested we get breakfast across the street before heading out so we went over and told Mike we were in a hurry.  I had two eggs over medium with rye toast = 365 calories.
I was only about 5 minutes late for work so everything worked out ok.  We also got the mechanic to squeeze my car in for an oil change and alignment so I'm checking things off my list left and right.  Lunch time came and went without as much as a pang of hunger.  Around 1:15 I finally decided I should probably eat something so I wouldn't screw up my whole schedule.  Mandarin orange, apple, banana & greek yogurt = 342 calories.
My afternoon was very productive, I checked one task off my list of must get dones for the week.  Joe came to get me promptly at 5pm and we drove to Egg Harbor City for dinner.  It took us less time then I anticipated to get to the restaurant so we killed some time playing WORDS with friends in the parking lot and I caught up on my twitter feed.  We were meeting up with my dad, sister & Bill for dinner partially cause we like them and partially because it's Atlantic City's Restaurant Week.  Certain establishments in the area sign up to be a part of the event and then create a prix fixe menu for $33 per person.  We usually try to visit a few new places each year but this week we're having problems finding reservation times that match up to our schedules.
My dad wanted to try Tre Figlio and none of us had been there before so we made a 6pm reservation and had no trouble getting a table.
Even with our play time in the car, Joe & I were still probably 15 minutes early so we went inside to have a drink at the bar.  I chose a cucumber martini = 130 calories.  You've probably noticed that I don't do a lot of drinking anymore (too many wasted calories), needless to say this one drink was all I needed to make me feel all warm & fuzzy.
I was absolutely starving so as soon as we sat down at the table I dove into the bread = 107 calories.  It was ok, nothing special, I probably would have passed on it if I wasn't famished.
The menu consisted of an appetizer, entree & dessert, you were allowed to chose one of each.  I have to say I think the waitress was a little rude to us once we said we were having the fixed menu, like we weren't worth her time anymore.  Anyway, the food was still good.  I chose the stuffed mushroom caps (fresh mushroom caps stuffed with ricotta cheese, bacon, onions & horseradish) = 472 calories for my starter.  They were very good!
For my entree I chose the Spinach and Crab Ravioli = 275 calories (fresh spinach and crab ravioli served in an alfredo sauce).  I really enjoyed it, licked my plate clean!
And for dessert I chose the homemade ricotta cheese pie.  I don't know why I always try it because I never like it.  I think I get confused because I like cheesecake & ricotta cheese so I figure it has to be a win.  It's so not, I only ate like 1/3 (122 calories) of it before passing it on to anyone else who wanted some.
We hung out at the table for a little while catching up after we ate.  I think Shana & Bill, well mostly Bill are totally going to be those people that talk about their pet all the time.  It was funny because Bill even said he hates when people only talk about their kids all the time and he's not trying to be that way with the dog.  Then he went into another story about the dog, lol, it's adorable how happy he is about having a dog again though.  I'm sure it's just because Shaggy's new.  I didn't even bother logging my food until we were in the car on the way home.  I knew it was going to be a disaster especially since I hadn't worked out.  We were home by about 8:30 and I wanted to try watching a little tv because the DVR is crazy full but Joe kept falling asleep on the couch.  We went upstairs around 9, I watched a little tv then passed out.  My first day with March goals was a total bust, lol...

How did I do on my March goals?
1. Read 2 books:  didn't get any reading done
2. Burn at least 750 calories a day for at least 25 days: 1909 burned - 1814 eaten = 95 burned, 0 days total
3. 1200 fitness minutes: 0 minutes today, 0 total for month
4. Eat 1 fruit or veggie with each meal for at least 20 days: nothing  w/breakfast, apple, orange & banana w/lunch, mushroom w/dinner, 0 days total
5. 15 spend free days - I paid $100 for the work at the mechanic, 0 days total...

  1. Fun! I am hoping we don't get a mean reception at Ram's Head this weekend. I love that place and $33 is WAY cheap for it. Last time we were there, it was just about $200 for 1 appetizer, 1 dessert, 2 entres and I'm sure a couple glasses of wine. They should expect it during restaurant week!
