I swear I totally lose my mind for just about a week once a month...  I have irrational thoughts, I forget things & I eat sugar like there's no tomorrow.  It's absolutely ridiculous & I am smack dab in the middle of it as we speak.  I found myself driving to work the other morning totally convinced that I needed to break up with Joe because he's never going to marry me.  I know this is crazy; all you have to do is look at the last few weeks of Five for Friday posts to see that the man treats me like gold.  Luckily, I've started to recognize  these thoughts/actions as irrational as soon as they pop into my head, then I can talk myself back down before letting it turn into anything more.  But I didn't used to, I used to pick fights with Joe, cry for no reason & think I was totally in the right about it all.  Thank god I've got it under control...

Tuesday's outfit of the day.  The sweater is from New York & Company, it's all one piece!  The pants are from Express, I think they're an Editor cut, but they're getting too big in the hips & thighs, I can grab like a handful of material on each side.  My shoes are Naturalizer Carnivale Oxford Pumps & my watch is Fossil from Macy's.
Joe was off from work on Tuesday & offered to make me breakfast before I went in to work.  He whipped up a two egg omelet with bacon and laughing cow cheese = 282 calories.
Remember that part earlier about sugar?  Well, when I got to work I went into our kitchenette to fill up my water cup & make some coffee.  There was a box of donuts from a vendor on the counter, it was like a force was pulling me towards the box.  First I just cut out a quarter of a donut and ate that little piece, next thing I knew the whole thing was gone.  And it was delicious = 210 calories.
I had a meeting at another location for part of the morning which was nice because I got to meet people I interact with a lot through email & phone calls but never face to face.  By the time I got back to the office it was almost lunch time but I wasn't really hungry.  But I didn't want to miss out on chatting with girls so I went up anyway.  I told myself I wasn't allowed to eat the 100 calorie snack because of the incident with the donut.  Lunch = 260 calorie.
I wasn't kidding about the sugar, I spent the rest of the afternoon snacking on the Valentine's Day peanut m&m's Joe brought in = 250 calories.
I had a dentist appointment after work so I made sure to brush my teeth before running out the door.  It's such a strange thing brushing your teeth somewhere other then your own bathroom, isn't it?  My cleaning only took about a 1/2 hour and I was off to meet Angela at the gym to make up the quick 3 mile run we couldn't do on Sunday.
By the way, my chest is all better, I forgot to talk about it yesterday.  On Monday after our delicious dinner Joe asked me how it was feeling and I was surprised to notice that it wasn't bothering me anymore!  I wasn't sure exactly when it had stopped aching but it was sometime between 9am and 5pm, lol.  It's so funny how that happens, I was in agony for 2.5 days then all better...  Anyway, now that I could run again we were back at the gym.   We went into the locker room to change and I realized I didn't have sneakers with me!  I always leave my sneakers at the bottom of the stairs and have to grab them on my way out the door.  Well, that forgetfulness struck and I didn't pick them up.  The funny thing is I remember thinking that my gym looked empty but just moved on without a second thought.
Since I wasn't about to run in my heels like these ladies I had to go home.  I dropped Angela off on the way & thanked her for trying to run with me, lol.  I was pretty hungry by the time I got to the house and Joe hadn't planned anything but leftovers for dinner so I had leftover chinese = 244 calories.
I really wanted to get a workout in after all the junk I'd consumed during the day so I decided to pull out the wii fit.  Joe helped me set it all up since it's been stored away in the closet for more than 2 years then he went next door to visit with Lou.
Apparently I'd never used it before, I had to set up my character and everything!  Good news is the system gave me a fitness age of 27, that's almost 3 years younger then I actually am!  Bad news is I wasn't thrilled with my workout, I tried a couple strength training moves, a few aerobic workouts and one balance game, but didn't even break a sweat.  I think I burned maybe 100 calories in the half hour I messed around.  The thing that annoyed me the most is that it's still definitely a game.  I had to make sure the machine was picking up my movements, even though I was doing everything I was supposed to if the board & sensor didn't catch it I was penalized.  I'll probably use it again when I'm stuck for a workout but I'll have to keep in mind I probably won't be sweaty or sore afterward.

How did I do on my February goals?
1. Read 2 books:  no reading for me
2. Burn at least 750 calories a day for at least 20 days: 2023 burned - 1246 eaten = 777 burned, 11 days total
3. 1000 fitness minutes, not allowed to count walking at the restaurant: 30 minutes today, 615 total for month
4. Eat 1 fruit or veggie with each meal for at least 20 days: nothing w/breakfast, fruit w/lunch, broccoli w/dinner, 6 days total
5. 10 spend free days - woohoo, didn't buy anything, 5 days total

  1. Wow. Look how skinny you are! You don't notice it as much with workout clothes on but with work clothes you can really see! You look awesome!

  2. I have to agree with Christina!
And I agree with the Wii Fit thing. I never rushed out to get one because I tried my sister's and was disappointed. Some of the other games I have for Wii are much better but again, still a bit of a game.

Oh, and I have been having a sugar problem too! I ate two donuts yesterday. I never do that!
