Happy Valentine's Day!

I have mixed feelings about Valentine's Day.  I definitely don't think it's a greeting card holiday, I mean it was established in 496 AD, there were no greeting cards back then!  It drives me crazy all the people on Facebook going on and on about what a waste it is...then don't celebrate it and stop trying to bring me down, jerks.  On the other hand, I don't think it's a day for grand gestures either, like a proposal would be cheesy.  I feel like it should be about spending a little extra time to let people know you love them, and presents are never a bad thing.

With that, my recap.  Since Christina expressed interest in the outfit of the day idea I've decided to go for it.  I'm not totally loving this picture though, it looks like I have no neck.
The pants are a Drew Flare from The Limited; the tank is seemless with a built in shelf bra from New York & Company; that's the faux wrap sweater that I got at Ann Taylor Loft on Sunday & the shoes are a few years old so I don't remember where I got them, probably PiperLime.  They're really cute too they have a t-strap and ruffle detail.  It didn't like me too long to put my outfit together that morning either.  I wanted to wear pink or red for Valentine's Day without screaming it from the rooftops.  I did change my pants at the last minute though because the charcoal colored pair I had on was too big.

For breakfast I had a bowl of Kashi Go Lean Crunch with a banana = 346 calories.  It was so much better then the Cheerios from last week!
The cereal did keep me full.  I didn't get hungry all morning and even comented at lunch that I didn't really need to eat.  I felt bad too because Joe called at about 12:20 to ask if I wanted to go out for lunch with him but I was already half way done eating the food I wasn't hungry for.  I had a variation of normal = 360 calories.
Joe stopped by the office around 2pm.  He dropped off a boquet of flowers and some candy to share with my coworkers.  I love that Valentine's Day fell on a Monday so I can leave them on my desk all week without having to worry about transporting them home until Friday.
He also brought my favorite, pretzel m&m's, they're pretty much the perfect candy, salty, sweet & bite size!  I'm definitely not putting these babies out for sharing, they'll be safely stored in my desk.  I had to have some immediately = 180 calories.
After work I stopped at the liquor store to pick up the last part of Joe's gift.  Since I don't know anything about beer, that morning I had I texted a few of his friends and asked them what kind of fancy beer I should get him.  Tim suggested getting a few different 24oz bottles with ratings of 98-100, so that's what I did.  I meant to take a picture of everything all together but forgot so I guess you'll never know which fancy beers he got...bummer.  I rounded his gift out with 2 pairs of boxers from The Gap & a bag of Reese's peanut butter hearts.

Dinner was ready when I walked in the door from work.  I was extremely impressed with what a great job Joe did, not only was everything delicious but look at the presentation!  It's like a 5 star restaurant or something!
We opened a bottle of wine that Mark & Kate gifted us for xmas and enjoyed the braised short rib with sweet potato whip, asparagus & homemade sweet potato chips (718 calories).  All my favorites!  Plus there's a lot left over so I can't wait to have some more!  After dinner Joe gave me my gift, but we'll talk about that later.  We asked Nicole, Lou & Jack if they wanted to stop by and try some of Joe's fancy cooking since there was so much left.  They came by a little later with some treats!  Isn't the frog so cute?!?  We'll just skip over the part where he poops out candies...  And that's a mailbox full of caramel hershey kisses, my favorite!
I decided to model my gift from Joe for Nicole.  That's right, red velour footie pajamas with a hood!  He also got me a regular pair of black velour pajama pants with a matching tank & some bath salts but the red pair is so much more exciting!  I've already warned Joe that I'll be wearing these prety much every day when I get home from the gym...
We spent the rest of the night watching DVR shows on tv, Joe even let me watch the Bachelor!  Poor guy kept falling asleep on the couch but that's ok because he worked so hard on the meal he didn't get much sleep the night before.  It was a really great day!

How did I do on my February goals?
1. Read 2 books:  no reading for me
2. Burn at least 750 calories a day for at least 20 days: 2101 burned - 1604 eaten = 497 burned, 10 days total
3. 1000 fitness minutes, not allowed to count walking at the restaurant: 0 minutes today, 585 total for month
4. Eat 1 fruit or veggie with each meal for at least 20 days: banana w/breakfast, fruit w/lunch, asparagus w/dinner, 6 days total
5. 10 spend free days - pick up the beer for Joe, 4 days total
