I have problems with my ears, I always have, I got tons of ear infections as a kid. Now that I'm a grown up, I know the signs and can usually take Sudafed to stave them off. However, every 6-8 months I have issues with my ears getting clogged, occasionally I'll wake up partially deaf in one ear or the other. It's usually not a big deal, I put some drops in and then use a bulb syringe to clean it out. Well, Tuesday morning I woke up deaf. I went through the process and got my hearing back then headed off to work. Around 3pm I went deaf again. I didn't have any of my drops with me so I would have to wait until after work to fix it.
I had planned on going to boot camp at the gym but I was concerned about my equilibrium being off, I would be super embarrassed if I fell over in the middle of class. When I ran this theory past Joe he agreed it was probably best that I go straight home instead. Joe is never on team "skip the gym" so I knew he must be concerned. When I was leaving the office my boss asked my evening plans and when I told her about my ear she suggested I go to Urgent Care instead.
On my way home I asked Joe & my mom their thoughts on Urgent Care. We decided that with my low co-pay it was probably smart to stop there since I've never had it clog twice in one day. Luckily 5pm is a slow time at the office closest to my house and I was in and out in less then an hour! They used the same drops I have at home in conjunction with a spray bottle of saline that had a fancy spout that rinsed my ear out. (I just googled it and I can buy the same thing on amazon for $25!)
I still had time to make my menu planned dinner, Pasta with Roasted Brussels Sprouts & Red Onions. It was just as delicious as the last time I made it and there are plenty of leftovers. So while I obviously missed my workout, I'm at least getting 1/2 credit for the day because I stuck to my meal plan! I'm also not too disappointed about the workout because I've got plenty of time left in the week, I can just move rest days around. Plus Nicole was nice enough to walk with me after dinner so I got all my steps (and a super yummy kiddie peanut butter & jelly water ice)!
Oooh thanks for the ear thingy link because I have issues with my ears too! Pools just kill me in the summer but oh how I love to swim!
